However, many drivers prefer the Atlas’ available 4MOTION® AWD setup to the Pathfinder’s optional 4WD layout, since it provides a reliable grip on slippery surfaces without the inconvenience of remembering to engage the system.
Interior
After a long day at work, you’ll look forward to climbing into the 2026 Volkswagen Atlas and relaxing in the standard 8-way power-adjustable pilot’s seat with heating, ventilation, and lumbar support. This level of comfort won’t be achievable with the Pathfinder’s base trim, since it only includes a standard 6-way manually-adjustable driver’s chair. While the Atlas banishes the winter chill with a standard heated steering wheel, you’ll have to upgrade to a higher trim level to find that feature on the Pathfinder. In the event that style is your top priority, the Atlas’ standard perforated V-Tex leatherette upholstery is more likely to catch your eye than the Pathfinder’s standard cloth trim. If your weekend trips to Dr. Willam Edward Henry Park would be more fun with extra gear, the Atlas’ maximum 96.6 cubic ft. of cargo capacity2 will give you more room behind the front row than the Pathfinder’s maximum 80.5 cubic ft. of storage space3.
Technology
When it comes to staying entertained and informed during your travels, the Atlas’ standard 12-inch touchscreen provides a clear advantage over the Pathfinder’s standard 7-inch display4. If several of your guests’ devices need to be plugged in during a road trip, the Atlas’ standard array of six USB ports will give them more options than the Pathfinder, which only includes four ports5 in its standard configuration. While the Atlas comes standard with a wireless charging pad6, the Pathfinder’s base trim still forces you to bring along inconvenient cords. “ I absolutely love this dealership. They are super clean, state of the art materials, and usually very quick for things like oil changes! I got there today at 7:00 AM and I left around 9:30. My only issue with this place today was that the mechanic did not communicate to my service writer that my update was taking longer than expected due to a system malfunction. However, Stephen did exactly what he said he would do, he was very polite, very professional, and very understanding of my plight. He accommodated me and gave me a few dollars off for my inconvenience so I am very happy. I drive from Baltimore Maryland to go to this dealership because I have never been to a more professional Volkswagen dealer. I’m closest to the Volkswagen on Baltimore national pike in Catonsville, but I do not like how they operate therefore, I drive to Salisbury for the BEST service. ❤️ thanks again Steven ”
